Excursion to the islets of Porto Rafti

Apart from the beautiful coastline, the characteristic of the area of Porto Rafti is the islets that are placed within the bay. The island of "Raftis" is a trademark of the area, with the ancient statue on its top and the myths that surround it.

Starting from "Vourkari", we paddle along the coast to the ancient settlement of Koroni, cross the bay and reach the islet of Raftis. The small beach on the south side of the island is ideal for a short break and swim. We will definitely visit the small cave on the east bank of the island and if we are lucky we will meet the small seal that sometimes frequents there.

Departing from the island of Raftis, we set our course to Raftopoula, the small island that hosts countless seabirds and although it does not have a formed sandy beach, the natural "pirate" harbor that forms on its eastern side gives a special experience.

Then we head towards the island "Prassos" through the northern coastline of the bay where we will pass by the beach of Erotospilia, Agios Spyridonas and end up on the islet. The beach of the island protected from the wind with the clear blue waters and the beautiful seabed is an ideal location for exploring with our masks.

We finish our excursion by paddling the beautiful coastline towards the starting point where we will admire the picturesque chapel of Agia Marina.

Ascent to the island of Raftis

The island of Raftis with its characteristic wedge-shaped and the statue of historical value that adorns its top is a trademark of the area. The stories surrounding the "colossus" of Porto Rafti are many and with different assumptions, but what is certain is that its archaeological and naval value are priceless.

The excursion starts from Vourkari where we will paddle towards the wild rocky coastline of the settlement of Koroni forged by the north winds and then we will cross the bay reaching the island of Raftis. The west side of the island, although it does not have a beach, allows the approaching so that we can walk to the top of the island. From there we will admire the mythical statue of the island and we will narrate all the stories and myths around it. The view from this point is magical since it has an amphitheatrical view not only of the area but of the entire southern Gulf of Evia up to the Cyclades.

After "filling" the view we will take our kayaks again and we can take a snack break on the beach of the island and explore the beautiful seabed on its coastline. Then we return to the starting point.

Excursion to the Temple of Poseidon in Sounion

The Temple of Poseidon in Sounion is a well-known attraction even out of Greece. The area has a magical energy with the imposing archaeological site taking us to other times. Mythology wants Aegeas to gaze at the sea from this rock and then get lost in the waves. This rock will be visited on our kayaks.

Starting from the port of Legrena, we paddle along the coastline. On our way we will meet small beaches and harbors, while somewhere in the middle of the route we will see the temple high on the rock. Then, alongside the bay of Sounio, We reach a beach below the archaeological site. We leave the kayaks and continue on foot, following a path with a gentle uphill slope, which in five minutes leads us to the parking lot of the archaeological site. From there the entrance is less than five more minutes away. Next is the tour of the temple area with the unique view. Upon returning to the beach we will take a break to cool off by taking a bath.
